Data backup has never been more crucial for any business.
Targeted cyber-attacks require a complete backup strategy that protects data wherever it resides— on‑premises or in the cloud.

Backing up data is a necessity
Many small-to-medium sized business (SMB) owners genuinely question the need for any kind of disaster recovery plan (DRP), particularly a data disaster recovery plan. ‘I’m just a small business. How much can I really lose?’
Strong support comes from the National Cyber Security Centre who advise that organisations back-up their critical data. It makes for common sense and peace of mind, knowing that whatever happens your data is safe.
Most of us use some form of cloud service these days to 'back-up' our documents, however they are not infaliable and whilst they provide a significant degree of confidence, they can be easily defeated by a variety of means. Even if you’re using one of the major cloud service providers to store important information (rather than storing it on your own equipment), you still need to check that:
- all your essential data is exported and backed up and;
- you know how to access and restore it (in case the worst happens)
Some services keep previous versions of your files and content, meaning you might be able to recover your data in the event of loss. Some services also keep a copy of your deleted files for a short period so the provider may be able to recover files that an attacker or employee deleted from your cloud service.
You should not solely rely on these mechanisms for a reliable backup of your critical and important data. You should ensure that you keep an independent copy in another safe place or service.
The services we provide.
Implementing a strong, integrated data backup solution ensures the safety of your mission-critical data so you can keep operations running with minimal interruption, even in the worst-case scenario.
On premise back-up
Using an on-premises backup involves storing a copy of your data at a physical location on a storage device such as an in-house storage server or external hard disk. It's a simple, straightforward solution for backing up your data, which is why many companies start with it.
Cloud back-up
A cloud backup solution stores a copy of your data in a digital, off-site location. Cloud service providers (CSPs) are third-party companies that manage these storage systems and may provide other services in addition to data backups and storage.
Cloud to cloud back-up
A viable option for anyone using Microsoft Onedrive. It helps to protect against inadvertant data loss due files being deleted (either deliberately or accidentally) as the Microsoft data retention policy lasts for only 90 days, and who checks their recycle bin?
What do we do?
As an Managed Services Provider we can add value by working with you to develeop a realistic disaster recovery plan.
We can't provide all the answers, but we can ask all the questions to help you develop the answers on your own. Then we can configure the back-up solution around your business needs.
The great news is that disaster recovery planning does not require a lot of time or money, only the will and commitment to create the plan. The effort put into the disaster recovery planning is time and money well spent.
What do you get?
For many it's peace of mind. We can tailor the solution to as much or as little as you need and that's reflected in the price. The cheapest option is to simply install a local back-up client on your machine(s) and have it back-up the data and the machine system image to a USB connected hard-drive. There are obvious limitations to this in that you have to remember to plug in the USB hard-drive for instance.
An alternative would be to have the data and the system image simply backed-up to the cloud, whilst this is a better strategy than most, it's slow to restore the data as it's often limited by the quality of the internet connection.
We would always advise that you have 3 copies of your business data.
- One is your production data, the files and folders you use everyday,
- the second would be a copy backed up to a local storage device, so restoration can be made if needed locally and quickly. This reduces the overhead on your internet connection and
- finally your data should be encrypted and backed up to the cloud. That way if you have a total site failure (say a fire or a flood) you can at least restore from the cloud
The development of a suitable disaster recovery plan will usually help you decide on the best fit for your organisation
Pricing
It obviously depends on what you want and also what you feel comfortable paying for. We are happy to offer advice and support to help you get the solution you want. On premise back-up has an initial cost for the local back-up machine and a license subscription per PC to run the software to keep that data safe.
Cloud back-up is a subscription service and varies in proportion to the amount of data that needs to be stored.
Cloud to cloud back-up is intended for those that use Microsoft Onedrive and still need the reassurance of an additional cloud that doesn't delete data. The good news is that cloud storage capacity is unlimited for the one price.
For each PC protected we include Endpoint Protection ,just because we feel you should keep the bad actors out.
